Brake Disc Automatic Production Line Delivers End-to-End Machining and Quality Control 2025-11-19

Hengga CNC's Brake Disc Automatic Production Line is designed to handle the entire sequence of brake disc production — from raw blank machining to final marking. Developed with advanced engineering and aligned to manufacturers' needs, this line offers automated handling and precision CNC processing for consistent results.

The sequence starts with a brake disc blank positioned in the material rack. A six-axis manipulator loads the part onto the OP10 Double Station CNC Vertical Lathe for rough and fine turning on one face. The machine's dual-column independent spindle setup ensures high torque and precision. Once complete, the disc is unloaded, flipped, and transferred to OP20 for identical machining on the second surface.

From here, the manipulator sends the part to the OP30 CNC Drilling and Tapping Center. With fast tool changes and stable construction, this machine drills, taps, and mills grooves efficiently. The processed disc then arrives at OP40 — the integrated Brake Disc Turning and Grinding Machine — which completes final double-surface turning followed by grinding for optimal smoothness and dimensional accuracy.

Quality assurance is embedded in the workflow. After machining, the disc enters a dynamic balancing station to verify rotational performance. Approved parts proceed to marking - either pneumatic or laser - while rejected ones are diverted to a reject table. The marking stage ensures each disc is traceable and compliant with production standards.

Major equipment in the Brake Disc Automatic Production Line includes the LYV-SD500 Vertical Lathe, offering turret flexibility and durable heavy-duty guide rails. The LV850 Drilling and Tapping Center provides high productivity and cost efficiency. The LYV-L450 Turning and Grinding Machine integrates multi-process machining into one fixture, saving time and enhancing accuracy.

Automation is key. The line uses manipulators for loading/unloading, flipping, and transferring parts, supported by roller conveyors for smooth logistics between stations. This layout minimizes human intervention, speeds up cycles, and supports both medium and high-volume production.

For manufacturers, the benefits are clear: reduced handling, shorter setup times, and enhanced precision. The Brake Disc Automatic Production Line is adaptable to diverse brake disc materials and designs, making it a strategic investment for companies aiming to improve efficiency and maintain strict quality control.
